Council's cash bid for proposed hub
Geelong councillors are expected to vote to again apply for federal funding for the Northern Aquatic and Community Hub project at tonight's meeting.
A report has recommended the city apply for $10 million for the project under Round Five of the Building Better Regions Fund.
The council has already committed more than $20 million towards the proposed Norlane hub, which will be built on the current Waterworld site.
It continues to chase another $41 million in federal and state cash.
The federal government has allocated over $8.2 million under the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Fund, with a report recommending the council approve a Work Schedule submission to use that money for the project.
