Council's cash bid for proposed hub

artists impression northern ARCGeelong councillors are expected to vote to again apply for federal funding for the Northern Aquatic and Community Hub project at tonight's meeting.

A report has recommended the city apply for $10 million for the project under Round Five of the Building Better Regions Fund.

The council has already committed more than $20 million towards the proposed Norlane hub, which will be built on the current Waterworld site.

It continues to chase another $41 million in federal and state cash.

The federal government has allocated over $8.2 million under the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Fund, with a report recommending the council approve a Work Schedule submission to use that money for the project.
